Classification of textile fabrics

1. Soft fabric

Soft fabrics are generally light and thin, with good drape, smooth modeling lines, and natural stretch of clothing outline.

Soft fabrics mainly include knitted fabrics and silk fabrics with fabric structure evacuation, as well as soft and thin linen fabrics.

Soft knitted fabrics are often used in clothing design to reflect the beautiful curves of the human body in the form of straight lines; Silk, hemp yarn and other fabrics are more likely to see loose and pleated shapes, which show the flowing feeling of fabric lines.

2. Cool fabric

The cool fabric has clear lines and a sense of volume, which can form a full clothing outline.

Common fabrics include cotton cloth, polyester cotton cloth, corduroy, linen cloth and various medium-thick wool and chemical fiber fabrics. These fabrics can be used in the design that highlights the accuracy of clothing modeling, such as the design of suits and suits.

3. Glossy fabric

The glossy fabric has a smooth surface and can reflect bright light, giving it a sense of brilliance. This type of fabric includes satin fabric.

It is most commonly used in evening dresses or stage costumes to produce a gorgeous and dazzling strong visual effect.

Glossy fabrics have a wide range of modeling freedom in the dress performance, and can have simple design or exaggerated modeling methods.

4. Thick and heavy fabric

Thick and heavy fabrics are thick and strong, and can produce stable modeling effects, including various thick woolen fabrics and quilted fabrics.

Its fabric has a sense of shape expansion, and it is not suitable to use pleating and stacking too much. In the design, A-type and H-type shapes are the most appropriate.

5. Transparent fabric

The transparent fabric is light and transparent, with elegant and mysterious artistic effect.

Including cotton, silk, chemical fiber fabrics, such as georgette, satin, chemical fiber lace, etc.

What are the characteristics of cotton cloth?

(1) It has good moisture absorption and breathability, and is comfortable to wear; (2) Soft feel, soft luster and simple; (3) Good thermal insulation and excellent wearing performance; (4) Good dyeing property, bright color, complete chromatography, but not good color fastness; (5) Alkali-resistant and acid-resistant. Concentrated alkali treatment can round the fiber section in the fabric, thus improving the luster of the fabric, that is, mercerizing (6) Good light fastness, but long-term exposure will cause fading and strength reduction; (7) Poor elasticity, easy to produce wrinkles and creases are not easy to recover; (8) Pure cotton fabric is easy to mildew and deteriorate, but it is moth-resistant.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of polyester fabric

Advantage: 1. Good elasticity, no deformation. This is also the biggest advantage of polyester fabric. Because the fiber material used in polyester fabric has very good resilience to deformation such as elongation, compression and bending, which can be said to be very close to wool. Moreover, because the rigidity of fiber macromolecular chain is relatively large, its elastic modulus is relatively high, and there will be no deformation. So polyester fabric will not find wrinkles after washing, so it is very suitable for use on curtains.

Difference between twill cloth and plain cloth

1. Different patterns: plain cloth is interwoven up and down, and the front and back are the same; Twill fabric is woven from two or three upper and lower layers. The front side is left or right twill fabric, and the back side is not twill.
