Advantage:

1. Good elasticity, no deformation. This is also the biggest advantage of polyester fabric. Because the fiber material used in polyester fabric has very good resilience to deformation such as elongation, compression and bending, which can be said to be very close to wool. Moreover, because the rigidity of fiber macromolecular chain is relatively large, its elastic modulus is relatively high, and there will be no deformation. So polyester fabric will not find wrinkles after washing, so it is very suitable for use on curtains.

2. It has shading property, but good light transmission property. Although this is very contradictory, it also reflects the advantages of polyester fabric. For example, the curtain made of polyester fabric can indeed block the sun, but it also has a certain degree of transparency and has a good ventilation effect. According to research data, polyester fabric can effectively eliminate 86% of solar radiation. If we use polyester fabric curtains, we can clearly see the situation outside the room through the curtains, and the vision is relatively wide.

3. The thermal insulation performance of polyester fabric is also very good. It can be said that the thermal insulation performance of many fiber fabrics is not as good as that of polyester fiber. So it is very good to use polyester fabric for some rooms that need thermal insulation. For example, when using air conditioners in summer, if we install polyester fabric curtains at home, we can actually reduce the frequency of air conditioners. It can also prevent heat loss in winter.

4. Polyester fabric has fire and moisture resistance. The polyester fabric has a very good feature, which is the flame retardancy. For example, polyester fabric will leave its internal skeleton after burning, that is, its internal fiber, which has certain flame retardancy. Compared with the materials made of cotton, linen or animal fur in our home, this is very advantageous. It is a very good material to use in our family. In addition, polyester fabric has good moisture resistance. There will be no mildew, and bacteria will not grow on it, and it is very convenient to clean it after it is dirty.

Disadvantages:

1. The first obvious disadvantage of polyester fabric is its poor water absorption. The water absorption is very poor, especially for some wet areas. Because the polyester fabric has no hygroscopicity, it is easy to form water droplets and absorb dust on the surface. This is also determined by the material of polyester fabric. So in wet places, I don't recommend using polyester fabric.

2. The breathability of polyester box fabric is not particularly good. If the gap between the polyester fabric we buy is relatively large, we rely on woven holes for ventilation. However, if the woven pores of the polyester fabric we buy are very small, that is, very dense, then the permeability of this polyester fabric is very poor. This is determined by the fiber characteristics of polyester fabric, that is to say, this fiber has no ventilation function, so we must pay attention when purchasing.

3. The color of polyester fabric gives the impression that it is not particularly good. In fact, this mainly depends on the dyeing performance of polyester fabric. The dyeing performance of polyester fabric itself is very poor. If you want to dye, you must dye with disperse dyes at high temperature. This is a great disadvantage compared with other cotton fabrics. So the color of polyester fabric is generally not particularly beautiful. And there is the problem of fading. For example, many polyester fabrics fade when they are exposed to water, which is actually caused by this problem.
